Trail of Seeds strives to build pride and catalyze development in agricultural communities around the world. Our first project is in the village of Mangula, Tanzania. I will work with the Kalunga Primary school, where teachers and I will guide students and their families through a reflection process around what "culture" means in their community and how the current development agenda affects their culture. Over the next three weeks the community will identify culturally sustaining development projects that our organization will fund through micro-grants. I have been named a Horn Fellow and Gallatin Dean's Grant Recipient by New York University to cover the costs of travel, accommodation, and supplies for the introspection process. However, I am short $1,500 to fully complete the micro-grants. Any donations given will go straight to the community, I am not asking for any logistical expenses. Your participation in this effort will be greatly appreciated.
