Sand filled underground oil tank. This is a video of an improperly decommissioned underground fuel oil tank. The tank was cut open filled with sand and then backfilled. By not decommissioning the tank properly water was allowed to enter the tank. Any waste oil or sludge that may have been left in the tank could have spread outside of the tank due to the water infiltration. Sand filling of a tank is never recommended in less it will affect a nearby structure by removing it. www.oiltankservice.com
