Barred owl hooting in West Virginia. A great teacher for new turkey hunters! Listen to the rhythm and tone of this owl and then try to reproduce it with your calling. Most people are probably going to say, "I didn't know that owls sounded like that?"

How do you flutter you're toungue like that? On the "alll" part of you're owl call? you did a great job of getting the owls attention and getting it to respond back!

  • Hootfunk, birdfunk, birdsong, birdcall. Good audio, nothing to detract from the sound of the bird.

  • I heard barred owls "cackling: in Stockbridge, Georgia for the first time ever last night. My aunt told me there was a family of them on her property. I have never heard such cackling by owls before. I came on Youtube to see what they look like. Great video!

  • We have them in the city, too. One night, I was sick with a head cold and kept waking up, and at one point I woke and heard a barred owl hooting softly outside my window. It was actually very soothing and I drifted off and slept soundly, and in the morning I was much better. It's like he wanted me to sleep so I could be better. :)
