i had gotten home just about 30-40 mins. before the twister from a jon interview and lunch with my dad....i heard the sirens and as i looked out my east window i saw funny looking clouds swirling around from what could have less than a half mile away and moving almost straight north....as it turns out i was staring at the tornado just as it made conatct with the ground.

I remember that day...was at my boyfriends house, and heard sirens going off; turned on the TV and FREAKED out...my parents were at work, and my bro was sleeping at home! drove like an insaaaane person to my house and then the tornado was gone...hahahahaha

@TBirdSCIL i reached the outer edge of downtown by the convention center and then dissapeared

Great vid! Did the tornado reach downtown? I don't remember hearing about this.

I was playing flight sim when i was flying over that spot over crosstown (hwy 62 and I-35W) when the winds went crazy. Just then i got my radio scnner out, tuned to 162.55 mhz and heard a Tornado warning for hennapien county was issued.

I wasnt right next to it like that but I was on the road too when that tornado hit! :O

Yes! I didn't even know we were supposed to have thunderstorms or anything that day, let alone a tornado!

How long were you stuck in traffic after that?

Traffic was fairly slow, mostly just because of the rain, but we weren't stuck at all. People stopped when it went over but we continued afterward at 30mph or greater. There wasn't all that much traffic.
