The 1994 world cup finals saw the emergence of another African country, Nigeria were very entertaining with victories over Bulgaria and Greece, however they did lose 2-1 to Italia 90 finalists Argentina. However Nigeria did enough to top their group.

The USA '94 team has been the best team Nigeria ever produced till date...after winning the African Nations Cup earlier in the year, the momentum was just there to be carried to the world cup...every department had a world class player....and the team work was just excellent.

I can see where you're coming from, but remember Rashidi himself forgot his mates that set him up for the 'tap in' goal..if he didn't score, Amunike was waiting for the ball...he should have gone to the player that set up the goal first rather than seeing himself as the hero....it was all due to team effort. What did he then do afterwards?....football is a team game.

It is so sad and eternally regrettable that Yekini celebrated that goal all by himself. None of the ten members deemed it fit to join him in the celebration. What a shame for an entire nation and its divisive intrigues!!

Mind u.... Maradona was the true legend......... And Nigeria always played the cheap, third-rate tactic of deliberately fouling the Argentine No.10..... U Nigerians repeated the worst tactic again in 2002 (Ortega) and 2010 (Messi) with an intention to injure him...... Nigeria, SHAME on u.........
