Unfortunately that didn't happen. We American citizens unfortunately elected a CiC who is decidedly just as pro-corporate & pro-NAFTA as Bush and in some instances go beyond what Bush had supported.

Yea right. Like in 2009 with a 10% unemployment rate and the max H-1B visas were used.

The H-1B visa IS protectionism - protection for employers, who own the visa; protecting them from having to hire a free-market US worker. The H-1B visa is a "government subsidy" for employers - actual words of free-market champion, Nobel Prize in Economics Milton Friedman.

This protectionism for employers should be eliminated or drastically reformed.

If we don't hire the best talent for the cheapest, companies in other countries will. Shutting us off from the outside won't help unemployment, it will only foster uncompetitive markets just like unions and protectionism slowed eroded the Big 3.
