Time is an illusion humans created to measure "age" based on life-cycles.
If time is not fiction, a day is the same length regardless of the speed by which the Earth rotates on its axis or rotates around the Sun.
If humans dominated the globe, we only fool ourselves. Humans only live on the Earth only as long as the human body might continue adapting to the ever changing body of Earth. When we fail in our evolutionary process, we join the continuing line of extinct species.
