Check the STS website. The turbos are mounted where the mufflers used to be, so in a sense the car is running straight pipes and that wonderful sound comes from an undiluted V8.

I think another advantage of such a system is much improved weight distribution; turbochargers are relatively heavy and it makes sense to put them close to the drive wheels.
And with a good thermal coating on all the exhaust pipes it shouldn't lose too much efficiency.

having turbos in the rear gave us 50 more hp with the temp drop, do your homework then visit sts and then change your comment :)
