Information - 678-776-8861

Endentulous with advanced ossification of both the upper and lower alveolar margins (bony gum lines) Of dental interest - Note the excessive bone loss due to infection, Periodontitis or advanced Gingivitis.

This transverse plane calvarium cut reveals the interior anatomical landmarks. The calvarium is removable and secured with small metal latches, one on each side. The calvarium cut is poorly done and misaligned on the right side of the skull.

Stainless steel springs secure the mandible.

This specimen is in overall excellent condition. There is no excessive looseness of plates. The Parietals are also tight.

The Zygomatic process is completely intact and solid. All primary plates are intact and solid.

The skull has no additional finish such as lacquer, varnish, or polyurethane. It is clean and exhibits only minor stain. There is no chalking, flaking, or peeling.

The plates in the skull are very tight & solid along the sutures. There is no play or looseness among the sutures in the skull. No other sutures on the skull itself are loose, even the Squamous Suture line on the side of the skull is tight.

Although this skull has no dentition, it is an excellent natural bone human skull. Natural bone geriatric skulls are rare and difficult to obtain (in any condition) therefore as a medical reference, this is an invaluable tool.

Being a natural bone specimen it is suitable for University level teaching, forensic court or other legal presentation, orthopedic demonstration, doctor to patient explanations, art study, anatomical drawing, exhibit, display and many other applications where accuracy of a natural skull is required.
