Johnny Boychuk catches Matt Stajan with his head down and throws a great hit. After the insane hit, A scrum ensues with Chara pulling Komisarek out of the pile trying to get in a fight.

  • @thisguy7788 im a leafs fan and ya it was a clean hit i agree and don't think the guy should get suspended but if u watch the angle at 1:44 u can kinda see him lift his shoulder towards stajan's head, it is a clean hit but i think the intention is there which isn't right although i don't think u can change aggression and don't want it to change cuz it would screw the game

  • komisarek would have got destroyed in a fight vs chara lol

  • That is how u hit

  • it was a clean hit i think the only reason there was discussion about the hit being legal is because stajan was skating low like any other player would and boychuck was taller and standing more upright

  • Manchuk

  • @KittyKranker On most hits you'd be right, but I'm not sure if this is one of those. Also, I think you need to go further back then ten years.

  • 1:35 "fuck you" -chara

  • it's different because it was straight on, it was not as late as the Horton hit, he didn't lead with his shoulder and Boychuk actually played the puck (he deflected it) before he threw the hit.

  • @str8rippon Tho not all that much different from Rome's hit on Horton, is it? The puck had just left Stajan's stick by about 1/4 of a second .. with Horton, the hit came about .5 of a second after he released the puck. Rome got a 4 game suspension during the Stanley Cup Finals .... league hypocrisy once again. Boston can do no wrong, whether its Chara driving a guy into a stantion or Boychuk head-hunting.

  • I hate Boston but that was a clean solid hit!

  • @KittyKranker the difference is today players hit in an attempt to injure. Originally, hitting was just a way of getting the puck off of a guy. If Boychuk wanted to do that, he would have needed to skate that fast and slam his shoulder / elbow into his face. Not saying I think it was a "dirty" hit according to the rules (that's debatable) but you have to be ready to answer the bell and fight if you try to injure other players, which was clearly the intention.

  • THEY COULD FEEL THAT HIT FROM TORONTO!!
