I believe that the Hamas leader is terribly mistaken or full of s*** (I believe the latter is more accurate). The fact that many Palestinian men are thrown in Israeli prisons, should NEVER by ANY CIRCUMSTANCE prevent an entire people from participating in peaceful resistance. Around the world, minority groups and other "undesirables" of the majority group are and have been systematically detained in prison cells. Use South Africa and the American civil rights struggle as an example.

Though maybe you could tell me about other armies in history that waited 8 years before retaliating, managed to kill 900 terrorists who were all hiding in civilian areas while keeping civilian casualties to half of that, dropped millions of leaflets warning civilians out of harms way, stopped the fighting for three hours a day to let them get to safety, and continuously provided them with aid, food, water, gas, and electricity.
