Indre was next through the clinic doors, desperate to control her uncontrollable bladder. Dr Christian sent Indre to see consultant urologist Dr Zaki Almara, who performed a urodynamics test to see how Indre's bladder coped with pressure. He confirmed that Indre was suffering from incontinence and prescribed medication to help her condition. Unfortunately the drugs caused unpleasant side effects and after three months Indre stopped taking them. Ten months on and Indre is sent to see Mike Swinn, a consultant urologist with a new treatment to try on Indre. Mike injected her bladder muscle 20 times with botox, paralysing the muscle and helping to control Indre's urgency to urinate. Indre revisits Mike Swinn two months later happy her condition is much improved.
This new series explores the conditions and ailments that leave many of us a little red-faced and aims to de-stigmatise common complaints.
