Xubuntu XFCE Desktop

This is an overview of my Ubuntu Jaunty running the XFCE desktop envrionment. Unlike GNOME and KDE this one does not have Compiz effects as far as I know. To install this, open a new terminal windows and type "sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop".

To install different desktop environments that you don't have:
1. Go to terminal and type the following commands:
GNOME: sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop
KDE: sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop
XFCE: sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop
LXDE: sudo apt-get install lubuntu-desktop
UNITY: sudo apt-get install ubuntu-netbook
2. After the desktop environments have been installed, reboot.
3. There should be a dropdown menu with all your desktop environments. Choose one and log in.

How can you have the Applications and places on the top panel like gnome?
Ive installed on my old toshiba but it came with the xubuntu display, i want to make it like regular panel on ubuntu...Is there an tutorial for that?

i have ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope when I recorded this My system reqirements are 1.4 GHz processor and 1GB RAM. AND an OLD ItEl gaphics card with 64MB VRAM
