This is my review on the book The Stand by Stephen King.

Publication Date: 1978, republished 1990.

Genre: Fantasy, Horror, Action, Adventure, Drama

Plot: The story follows two groups of survivors of a plague which has destroyed most of the human race. One group of survivors is led by an old woman named Mother Abagail, who is a messager of God, and the other group of survivors is led by a man named Randall Flagg, who is a messager of Satan.

  • Thank you so much for this awesome review! Would this be a good first S.K book? I do read a lot and I enjoy long books, but I never read one of his. Also, in your opinion, which book is his best?

  • @InteligentMan I think IT is his best. That would be the book by him to start with in my opinion.

  • I first read The Stand back in 1980, thought it was so scary because its premise of a world wide super flu wiping out most of humanity was so plausible, it was so easy for the reader to picture himself inside the plot. If the book disappoints now, it's because we're used to King's bag of literary tricks. But you must finish the Dark Tower series, where he does revisit the world of The Stand in later volumes.

  • @wb4ever1 I made this video a while ago, now I have read more of The Dark Tower series, I'm up to book five: Wolves of the Calla now The Dark Tower is a great series.

  • Awesome review dude.

  • @canto1408 Now, after reading "Shining" and "The Stand", I think I'm finally ready to try "IT". After reading two of his best works I understand it doesn't matter what ideas his books are based upon, no matter how childish may seem at first cause he can pull it off. I really like your review, I'll subscribe. Cheers!

  • hear that bitches, (in mocking voice) THE STAND BY STEPHEN KING

  • Your reviews are just GREAT!!!! Thanks!!!! :)

  • @canto1408 I don't really like the whole ideea behind IT, but thanks for the fast reply.

  • Books always feel so much more real/scary when it takes place where I live XD

  • Excellent review, on a great book. One of the darkest books I have read, in both concept and presentation. Raises excellent political and ethical issues and forces you to question your own morality.

  • IMO the best book hands down by Stephen King. No question. The depth to which he goes to explain the characters is simply amazing. And to think..unlike other novels where the story is more fantasy than reality...the plague at least is something that could ACTUALLY happen.

  • can you make more book reviews from stephen king?
