The thirteenth song from Megadeth's thirteenth studio album "Th1rt3en", released on November 1st. Even if it's the slowest song on the whole record it's probably my favourite one. I think everyone who knows every Megadeth album since Killing Is My Business and especially the ones who read Dave's autobiographie realize the deep meaning of the lyrics, which really epitomizes the whole story of Megadeth. But of course it's not just the great lyrics, it's also the whole composition of the song with all its riffs and emotions which makes it to something special. Chris did a great job with the clean-sounding electric guitars, Dave's vocals are better than ever before, and all this just fits perfectly together. I don't know exactly what it is but something about that song makes my flesh crawl everytime I hear it, probably all those emotions and this depressive atmosphere Dave can express with his unique voice together with this great rhythm and acoustic guitar parts. 13, simply put, is just the most perfect ending to a great album. \m/
LYRICS:
13
[Solo - Broderick]
Thirteen times I went to the well
To draw my thoughts, I'll gather and tell
Like bricks that I've laid to build my life
Those that crumbled only caused me strife
The thoughts became words, cast into the sea
But they returned, always haunting me
Like a severed arm washed up on the shore
I just don't think I can give anymore
Because I've lived, how many times do I have to die
Because I've lived, how many lives do I have to die
Thirteen times and it's been lucky for me
After everything, you still want me to bleed
Thirteen ways to see the devil in my eyes
Because I stood here thirteen times and I'm still alive
At thirteen I started down this path
Fueled with anger, music was my wrath
Years of clawing at scars that never heal
Drowning my mind, the thoughts are too real
Because I've lived, how many times do I have to die
Because I've lived, how many lives do I have to die
Thirteen times and it's been lucky for me
After everything, you still want me to bleed
Thirteen ways to see the devil in my eyes
Because I stood here thirteen times and I'm still alive
I can't get out
I can't jump out
Too much to face
I can't erase
[Solo - Broderick]
[Solo - Mustaine]
Because I've lived, how many times do I have to die
Because I've lived, how many lives do I have to die
Thirteen times and it's been lucky for me
After everything, you still want me to bleed
Thirteen ways to see the devil in my eyes
Because I stood here thirteen times and I'm still alive
And I'm still alive
I can't get out
I can't jump out
Too much to face
I can't erase
Thirteen times and it's been lucky for me

MEGADETH get the Grammy.

@FuckFaceOblivion Hell yeah, they're already the band with the most Grammy nominations without a win, so quoting Peace Sells "It better works this time". Hope they finally win their first Grammy, even faggots like Bieber and Gaga win loads of them, so what's fucking wrong with that world? How is it even possible that they didn't win one for Rust in Peace? Or for Sudden Death last year? However, I think that Megadeth's time has come after all this years, at least they definitely deserve it!

@MegadethGuitarplayer wanna know the reason , megadeth is not mainstream. look up the bands that won grammies, metallica, iron maiden, judas priest, black sabbath, ozzy osbourne,DIO. i'm not hating any of these , as i'm a big metal fan , but most of these bands went mainstream , and got a grammy for that.
for instance metallica got major attention after "the black album'' , why cause of nothing else matters , and the many covers made of this song, this is my opinion , and i love/like every band

@steffelaar Absolutely agree with you. Just as an example I really love and respect Iron Maiden for their great music but still don't get why they won the Grammy last year. El Dorado is a great song of course but nevertheless the category was "best metal performance" and was El Dorado really heavier than Sudden Death? Was ANY of the nominated songs more badass Thrash Metal than Sudden Death with Daves and Chris' outstanding shredding solos? I guess not, but it's just my opinion as a Deth fan.

@MegadethGuitarplayer best metal performance doesn't mean whats heavier, it still has to be better which is why El Dorado won...

@JoeSchills1904 Well, for me Sudden Death is heavier AND better, but that's just my opinion.
