  • I love the Counting Crows, and I love this song...But am I the only one disappointed? He seems to high to walk or sing...it's a sad display, really. It was hard to watch.

  • I don't think he was high.

he just lost a ton of weight, very into being fit right now...

    It was a GREAT show!!

  • @noblezu I'm pretty sure that one dislike on this video gives you your answer.

you've probably never seen them live. he might have been high(the song is about drugs for all i know) but the singer of this band is notable for not singing exactly the same as on the recording. the recording is often a simple way of singing, and live he varies a lot. not saying i like it(after all, he makes popmusic so live he should sing the song like it is), but it's what he does. that, and an internet recording, duh.

  • Excellent song-amazing lyrics and music. It means a lot to me this song

  • I absolutely love the vocal/melodic switch-up around 1:30. Just great. Wish I would've seen this version. Each time I've seen them, they've managed to play all of my tops, except for this one D:

  • I agree on the improvisation. Some of the most beautiful versions of songs (and songs themselves, i.e. "Hazy") are the result of said changes. I've seen them in concert twice, and everything he does always comes off to me as being very sincere and heartfelt, as you said "a very personal experience for the audience." Really makes seeing them live a truly amazing experience.

  • They wouldn't be a great band if he always sung the same genre in a monotone. It's his improvisational style that's so great.

  • when you sing in a band...you're not a robot repeating perfectly the way it sounds on the record...the whole point of playing live is that you do "change it up" a bit...I'm not trashing ya wojtek...I've seen the Crows 5 times now and I love when Adam improvises...it's very emotional and he makes the song you know from the record a very personal experience for that audience...

  • i don't like how he changes his singing style around. i like the songs the way they sound on the record. melodic.

  • he was not high...i was there and he was just being him the show was frikin great

  • no he wasn't high just meoldramatic getting into his song
