My daddy, Carl Fisher, wrote this song and was lead singer of "The Vibrations". I'm so proud of him.

Storm Warning reminds me of starched highboy collars, straight leg silk & wools, coco brown comforts and West Philly. Good Stuff!!!

Great song! Just saw the Trammps do this last night at Philadelphia's Kimmel Center.

@keepingthefaith72 Actually, I'm pretty read up on it. It's just funny that we have two entirely different geographic sets of recollections being posted on this page, many of which come straight from Philly. If you would come here and go to one of Jerry Blavat's dances, which have been going on since at least the '60s, you'd hear a lot of the same music that's called Northern Soul in the UK.

@PHL76Music Thats because you dont understand what Northern soul is about ... Ktf.

@MrCudaddy Good brother !! Sounds like special times. I'm jealous. That was a hell of a show you saw as a 6th grader. Almost forgot about the Nixon and the Aqua Lounge. Grendels Lair on South St. is where my ex wife and I partied on our 1st date.My parents often saw major acts at the Latin Casino in Jersey. Those dance concerts at the Spectrum in the early 70's were incredible. Partied to Mandrill,Funkadelic, Bloodstone and Cymande at there, all in one night. We were blessed !!

@deeptime1954 Hi,We weren't allowed to go to the Uptown back in the day,but when I was in 6th grade,my neighbor took us and we saw Jr.Walker,Garnett Mimns,Jackie Ross, the Soul Sisters, the Volcanoes and the Intruders all for about S2.50. Between that and my father's nightclub,my live music addiction started. After that ,the Nixon,Latin Casino,State,Aqua lounge ,Showboat/Bijou,Grendels Lair,Electric Factory ,Temple Stadiun, Spectrum,etc....memories!

@MrCudaddy I was driving up Broad st. the other day and passed the Uptown. The mural painted above it depicting Georgie Woods and some of the great acts that played there is deep. It's a Philly treasure.

Val Shively's is the joint !! I liked the original location up 69th st. better, but the present location is cool.Years ago I found a 45 of the Miracles " Much Better Off" there when I couldn't find one anywhere.
-
I saw them during my first time at the uptown .

There was nothing like Philly Soul/R&B. A certain style was prevalent in most PHL songs done not just by Gamble & Huff but also by other writers. And if you want this 45, I can tell that you can find it at Val's R&B Records. Val has millions of 45s (literally!)
moment??? who sing this song volcanos?I told one of the singers find this lead singer, and he did.I doont understand it anymore?
