shame she never attempted a minor key Beethoven work - has a female ever competently performed minor key beethoven piano sonatas (Valentina's efforts are a joke compared to the heavyweights)

I think it depends she is rumoured to be pretty lazy when it comes to practice so that might be the reason

She starts way too fast, trips right at 0:19 and has to blast the pedal to cover it, and then gradually lets the tempo slide till she abruptly picks it up again... Don't get me wrong, Argerich has a wonderful technique.. but her sense of tempo has always been less than satisfactory... Listen to her Scarlatti sonatas to see what I mean...
