View THIS link from a 1988 New York Times article predicting the tremendous costs involved in the de-commissioning of Nuclear Power Plants in the U.S. http://www.nytimes.com/1988/10/31/us/dying-nuclear-plants-give-birth-to-new-p...
Former Congressional Candidate John Russell once again tells it like it is. Holding public comment hearings throughout the state of Florida regarding the proposed rate hikes and proposed construction of the Levy County Nuclear Power Plant, the Florida Public Service Commission heard from the public.

John Russell in his public comments discussed the inherently corrupt nature of a system that is operated by and for the benefit of the corporate sector. John made his points in no uncertain terms much to the chagrin of the commissioners.

In particular, Commissioner Nancy Argenziano in her attempts to distance herself from the very sound arguments made by Mr. Russell inadvertently stepped from the proverbial frying pan... into the fire.

As Commissioner Argenziano attempted to defend her political integrity, John interjected that "The Florida Public Service Commission was a nice parking place for politicians in between elected office positions...." A point to which Commissioner Nancy quickly responded "YES, YES, YES!"

Further on in the discussion, Commissioner Argenziano pointed out (again while attempting to defend her political integrity), that the Florida State Public Service Commission Does not work WITH the Florida Legislature... It works FOR... The Florida Legislature....

WOW... What happened to the "PUBLIC" in P U B L I C Service Commission? Like the PSC is...

s u p p o s e d to be looking out for the INTERESTS OF .... The PUBLIC... For Crying Out Loud!

Several more video segments of this meeting will follow of other citizens speaking up against the corporate dominance of our governmental decision making.
For the past six years now John Russell has offered his voice on behalf of the ordinary man. John has never been shy about speaking Truth To Power irrespective of the topic. As a Nationally Certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with an MBA in Health Systems Management, John is well versed on Health Care Issues. As a former candidate for U.S. Representative, John has long been a strong advocate for a National Single Payer Health Care Plan. John also has taken very strong positions in favor of alternative energy and decentralized power generation and distribution. At this time John is focusing on advancing the important issues of the day especially National Health Care Reform rather than campaign for public office at this time. In the near term John will be engaged in speaking at public forums, and on television and radio on behalf of Comprehensive Health Care Reform/The Public Option rather than campaign for public office.

  • Mr. Skop in my opinion would be a balanced, reasonable and competent voice for the public welfare were he to remain as a member of the PSC. Not a likely outcome as the "push" by the utility Industry is for 100% " Schills." Just... my humble opinion. John Russell

  • BTW Nathan Skop was a real gentlemen and approached me following the hearing telling me that everything that I said was right on the button. This, despite Mr. Skop's obvious personal affinity for Nuclear Power as he became somewhat emotional as he described to me the initial start up of a Nuke Plant that he had been involved with professionally... • Go to link at the bottom of the information section and click on the link for WMNF audio podcast featuring Jason Parente appearing on Democracy Now with Amy Goodman discussing the current state of disaster that is the Nuclear Power Industry. Advance the audio bar to about the 75% completed mark to listen. AS I write this comment BOTH Three Mile Island AND the Crystal River Nuclear Plant are shut down due to leaks. Crystal River due to a crack in a wall which is designed 2 containRADIATION!

  • Nancy Argenziano is completely off the topic in her attempt to defend herself and distance herself from the corruption that is so completely obvious to anyone who even remotely is paying attention to this issue. J R
