Aren't We Already Enlightened? Filmed 08/09/08 at a HYS Satsang, Santa Rosa, CA.

Satsang Question "Aren't we are already self realized? Don't we just need a paraidgn shift? Is there is no need to practice or to seek because we already are enlightened?"

Answer: We are all that Divine Flame, but encased in the lamp glass of the mind. Everyone is enlightened but the degree to which we realize and express this enlightenment is the degree to which the soot covering the lamp glass of the mind is clear. That mind is a ceaseless flow of karma, the mindstuff, the karma has to be worked out for that individual divinity to realize the Cosmic Divinity, Enlightenment requires that the curtain of the mind must be melted. That is best done by practicing Kriya Yoga.

  • It makes me so sad that someone would call Christ a showoff....He suffered and loved so many. He was selfless and completely devoted to God......am I not understanding you. I have great respect for you. It bothers me terribly that through the ages people have caused great agony to animals as sacrifice. this bothers me as it is unconscionable...why hasn't the violence been shown as pure evil? thank you...With respect...Susan

  • @puffstefanic "Its not in the words but in the deeds" is Gurunath's point after answering the person in the audience who made a joke about Jesus showing off. To which Gurunath stated that if Jesus was showing off then God please make me a show-off who alleviates human suffering. Watch the video again and hear the intent and Gurunath's implication that actions define what a person is and not words. Jesus was against animal sacrifice when He quoted Isaiah 1:11

  • Keeping it very simple, as a trans-cultural experience: I have been able to confirm that Kriya is one of 4 types of basic yogas that use asanas. Also, deity worship and hence, Christianity is a type of yoga people like the yogi there call 'bhakti yoga'. Hope that actually helps. It took me a while to figure it out.

  • @MiriamSPia Patanjali's Eightfold Path to enlightenment explains and defines it perfectly. Shiv Goraksha Babaji's Kundalini Kriya Yog begins at the 4th step which is Pranayam and continues on up until Samadhi or enlightenment, which is the eighth and final step.

  • i can dig it big time !

  • Satguru...

  • @TheRealReasonForDP the inner cleansing of karma from the chakras is not determined by the external world and its influences. It is determined by the depth of kriya practice. The outward duality of the world is a comparative illusion of pleasure and pain. Learn to love the beauty of the world without being attached to it.

  • this is good stuff

  • hell yeah, yogiraj really nailed the explanation of what the Buddhists mean when they say that. I was kinda afraid for a second that he wasn't going to finish making it clear to the lady. Truth is always Truth and comes from the one source; no matter what human mouth it happens to pop out of and with what accent.
