certainly -- though in ages past, the religion of the land had to at least be given lip service -- now we have the privilege of openly professing what we believe to be true (though only if asked, of course) :)

@prankster1590 that depends on wich part of England you study. Look up a BBC programe called Blood of the Vikings. They did a huge genetic survey of English men.

politically it would help - but still, there are those who embrace a faith because it satisfies their minds, provides a noble reason for being charitable, and provides hope in the face of inevitable death. True or not makes no differnce, people are comforted - but others use the church as a power structure that lets them dominate their fellows - so one has to throw the baby out with the bathwater - no church, & no god either -- I dunno; what hope do you have for the future?
