PARK TWP., Mich. (WOOD) - An explosion near Holland causes a big mess for residents at one condo complex.
Manhole covers blew and the sewage system was compromised for more than a dozen Anchorage Condominiums residents.
An investigation is underway at the marina across the street for pumping something into the sewer that shouldn't have been there.
"All of a sudden we heard a great big bang," said John Vandenberg. He says the sound came first, then the sights and smells.
Vandenberg saw sewage all over the house.
"Both bathrooms, our utility room and I mean it was all over," Vandenberg said.
It's all cleaned up now, but starting Thursday night at around 9 p.m. it was a different story.
"It all came up in the drain, shot right up it was all over the wall," said Vandenberg.
Park Township Manager, Jerry Felix, says the cause was a gasoline explosion in the sewer.

"Which one should I pump gas into, the one that says gas or sewage?" Voice yells, "either one should work". "Yeah, I thought so..."
