Which Kay 703, 12AU6-35Z5-50L6 or 60FX5-18GD6-36AM3 tubes? Got the first  and can't get good sound - very quiet maxed in my room, can't get crunch, bass is fart and sound dark and fizzy. A speaker problem? It's a Heppner. What's the impedance, thinking of getting a replacement? Problem shouldn't be tubes - it works and hum is very quiet.

Thanks for any help! Also, is it safe shock wise, when I use it with a 240V - 120V voltage transformer, since in Europe, mine has no isolation transformer?

@ronaldkorv my amp just went quiet and clean too.. I think its the caps and resistors needing swapped out

my speaker and tubes read good... I think I pushed it too hard with the Page-esk Pedal one day and started the downfall

Don, curious about that 703. Is it a 703, 703B, or 703C? See the plate on the bottom of the amp. Also what is the tube complement?

just a plain "703" tubes are 18GD6A / 60FX5 / 36Am3

on back it also reads Model 703 hope that helps Don

I especially enjoyed the Chuck Berry riffage at the end there. That combo of pup and amp has a great punch with out being stiff. I may have to try your pups, mang.

I'm loving this sound, man. I just ordered your 10K 0038 a couple of days ago and have the SD Antiquity neck pu as well, except mine has the original alnico 3 mag in them. Would this setup be an option for me without swapping out the magnets in the SD and if so, what differences in tone could I expect (keeping everything else the same)?
