American Dreams - dancing to I Want To Hold Your Hand

This is, in my opinion, the best episode of American Dreams. It was about halfway through the first season (aired on 1/5/03). The episode is about the arrival of The Beatles. Actually, all the action takes place in this opening sequence. The best part of this opening is that the kids dance to "I Want To Hold Your Hand" and have an absolute blast! On a technical note, it's not the original recording. Although the kids sing along, there are no original vocals, and even the instrumental backing is not from the recording. Truth be told, it's like a karaoke version. But, that does not detract from the excitement of the scene. The kids are having so much fun, it's beyond description! After the dance, it goes to the opening credits.

this was SUCH a good show. The BEST writing anywhere, hands down!!!

I get goosepimples whenever I watch it, it was so real. I was a baby, '64 surrounded by MUCH older siblings and lived this epoch through them being with them all the time while our parents BOTH worked. I was so crushed when the show was prematurely cancelled. This was an absolute crime!

Oh my, as young as I was back then I SOOOOOO remenber . Music was so EXCITEING in the 1950s and 60 s. I was born a music lover and it was amazeing to have music that really made you happy you were alive.
