Slavia Sabre Fencing

This is a friendly fencing bout at the end of a long practice and we're tired. This is why the footwork is so sloppy and the bladework resembles a Star Wars light sabre fight...

yeah, that was my first comment.. why the heck aren't you guys wearing knickers. lol.

and no offense, but wtheck was with the jump at :50? lame.. >_>;; if you're gonna do that, at least continue the attack forward instead of sitting there waiting for the opponents attack.. that way you still have the right of way and you're pushing the opponent off the edge.

he just enjoys jumping, it's his thing :). but um.... in my club, we don't usually wear too much equipment. maybe you can notice we only wear lames, not even jackets or plasters or chest protectors.... it can get a little hardcore when hits are strong :)

we're tough :)) (not in this bout, but the last time I went to practice, this same guy got hurt in a bad place... so he may be buying fencing pants for practice....)

It IS allowed to crossover while retreating in sabre.

It is NOT allowed to crossover while advancing.

He is doing it only when he`s retreating.

The guy on the right keeps cross over retreating, and cross over advancing, which if i'm not mistaken isn't aloud in Sabre, due to the fact its supposed to imitate a calvary

I would. They have HORRIBLE footwork and they dont change direction well. I dont think either of them has a grasp of the timing of fening either. It would be cool to beat these two.

If you ever get the opportunity to direct Sabre fencing... Don't take it. It's a pain in the ass. =). But still real fun to do.

Knickers aren't needed for practice. Also, in a saber bout, the target area does not include the area below the waist.

and i don't know about your club, but we hit really hard. it'd be BAD idea to not wear a jacket =P
