It was her right to take the decision she took, it was a conscious decision. Nevertheless, entertaining animation;

She began to go through manic-depressive periods at 13 following the death of her mother, which intensified upon the death of one of her half-sisters at 15. Then, in her mid-twenties, her father died. After each loss she fell into extreme bouts of depression that resurfaced throughout her career, accompanied by hallucinations. She also endured sexual abuse from two of her half-brothers as a child; it is disputed as to what extent that trauma affected her work and eventual suicide in 1941(?).
