This is a recording from the ITV which shows highlights from the Easter 'Spring Nationals' meet in 1976 - Santa pod's 10th anniversary - watch by over 50,000 people!!, Where the first 5 Second run was achieved.
Also, Don 'Big Daddy' Garlits was racing here. For the first time in Europe there was an eight car top Fuel entry. Garlits had mechanical problems and qualified no.5 with a 6.89/215mph. No.1 qualifier was Peter Crane in the 'Stormbringer' with a 6.21/215mph pass. Garlits and Crane met in the first round of eliminations... the rest is history
The quality isn't great but nor was it then back in '76.
Anyway, it's quite long but worth the watch in my option. Hope you enjoy it

I really enjoyed this - I was there. I hope you don't mind me taking the libery of trying to fix the aspect ratio issues - I see a thin picture with black side bars. I've fixed this, and some of the sync, and posted elsewhere. If this offends you (or you'd like my file to replace your upload) please let me know.
