Derrick suffered a fifth stroke in July this year but has recovered and sents his best wishes. Btw what are digital paintings?

I've been doing some "Girly" (not perverted!!) digital paintings of some models(mostly Korean)..

Will sent your regards( who shall I say it's from) when I am in Sgp in Dec . He might be coming to Perth next year. A gathering then would be nice. After his first stroke, he tried to make a comeback but it was difficult - the Carriage Bar did not renew the contract with York Hotel and had to close because the Carriage Bar was the Thunderbirds. The remnants of the band now performs at the Serangoon Gardens CC. Was there the day before the closing. Sad.

YUP, certainly in my era growing up and listening to them. Nearly every week at the Carriage Bar watching them. Hey, any kind soul with their vinyl 45 EP available??

Sorry don't have the vinyl but could let you have the MP3 for this song. Was also at the Carriage bar everyweek. Will post video of Derrick's 54th B/day at the Carriage Bar when I locate the tape. Cheers

i was born in 1989. this song was introduced to me by my dad while i was in my mid-teens. pretty awesome! i'm trying to cover this song with my band but i can't get the slide sound right though.

i m born in 1960, so i was 3 when tis song came out. i didn't know the song til i was in my 20s. Great song!!! i know it will be for a long long time to come. i will pray for Derrick and all the team members, God bless!!

Thanks for yr reply. The Thunderbirds one of the greatest band of the 70s but its a pity Carriage bar is gone.... every week am there to listen to them and the guests are every so spontaneous. Pls... appreciate if you can post them. Thanks again & Cheers.

Things I just love about this song(the 1966 studio recording):

1) The background vocals

2) The bass

3) Derrick slide riffs with that rod

4) Harvey unbelievable emotion on the song, his voice so soulful!
