Here is the Grand March and a small piece of another dance that several hundred Civil War enthusiasts participated in on Saturday evening in Gettysburg at the Gettysburg Hotel. it happens every year and with it's popularity, keeps getting bigger. The Libby Prison Minstrels opened the Ball with their period music and a stirring rendition of the 1863 version of the Star Spangled Banner. Check out libbyprisonminstrels.com to see and hear a sampling of that band. Video provided by RM Digital Productions. Check them out at rmdigitalproductions.com

  • why didn't you use the live sound rather than use music from the soundtrack of Gettysburg? Would have loved to hear the band! :)

  • Couldn't use the music from that night. My camera was at the opposite end of the room and my mic only picked up distant sounds that were not useable. Sorry about that.

  • Must have been boring--dancing on carpeted floor.

  • I wouldn't know about that, I did the video and I don't dance! Besides, only the outer area was carpeted. The center area was wood.

  • Hi ,thank you for this magnificent video.I enjoyed very much.cheers!!

  • i wanted to go to the ball but i live down in florida. i would love the chance to be there dancing witheveryon e :)

  • It wasn't boring at all dancing on the carpet. In fact - since the reenacting shoes don't have a rubber sole - it is much nicer dancing on carpet! It was a GREAT time!! Just wish we could have danced more! Thanks for posting!! :)
