Wow - a very rare broad daylight move of the CSX J746 at Joliet!

The J746 hardly ever runs during the daytime anymore, but thanks to the Iowa Interstate running a few extras the night before, the eastbound CSX J746 was delayed out of Ottawa and came into Joliet at 1:03 P.M., instead of its usual 3:00 A.M. or earlier time. How nice, an SD40-2 is leading! 8132 leads the charge, followed by an AC4400CW and a GP38-2 at the rear. The train was also longer than usual. It was timed perfectly, as I had to work a half hour later.

  • I don't know why it's rare

  • It normally runs around 3:00 A.M.

  • GP38-2s and GP40-2s are the best Geeps.

  • Yep, they're definitely a nice sight to see.

  • Good to hear IAIS is running extras. Just another sign of improvement of our economy!

  • Absolutely. The more, the merrier!
