An important question: - "How do you as a teacher know they've acquired Habits of the Mind?"
1. Graduation Committee consists of:
a. Student Advisor
b. 2nd Faculty Member
c. Adult of student's choice
d. Younger student
2. Their Charge:
a. On basis of the evidence each student presents his/her
7 portfolios. Was the student in the habit of using their
minds well?
b. Each student must choose Math, Science, Literature,
History as four out of their seven Portfolios.
3. Oral Presentation to Committee:
a. Major piece of work
b. The Committee questions students on depth and
breadth of knowledge and the use of habits of mind in
each portfolio area.
c. In that moment we see them!!! They really are
competent and have pride in their work.
d. The students know they are taken seriously.
