What does it mean to be human?

For a class project, I went into the street and asked 100 people what it means to be human. About 40 of them responded and were willing to be interviewed. Here are their answers.

Did no one mention language? or culture? And why emotions, when those hardly make us unique? We are not necessarily more "advanced" in an evolutionary framework, as the mere survival of other species is a testament to their adaptability. I find that not one of these answers is even remotely satisfactory.
