Yeah i agree with you they are supposed to come out with an 80 core about the year 2015. I am suspecting it will be server CPU and they probably will not come out with a main stream version till about the year 2017

Meh...Killzone 2's better.
har-har!

1GB of cache????
lol.
I suppose it's possible assuming you don't mind having motherboards the size of two football fields; and a processor the size of an aircraft carrier.
I exaggerate of course.

At current process nodes, what you suggest simply isn't efficient or cost effective.

Ever application is using every cache equally! Those cache are not like RAM. They are always full so that the CPU will always have something to do.
The difference between penryn CPU with a lot's of NOT shared L2 cache and nahelem CPU with a lot's of shared L3 cache is that in the first case, data need to go trough the northbridge to go from one core to an other. In the second case, data is kept in the CPU so it's faster. In every case, it will be.
In fact, it's more complicated.

yeh as games aren't made to use the full power of it yet

They are good for gaming, but for now they are not much of an improvement over yorkfield. Even looses out to it in some cases.(Still talking games here btw).
