A police dog was enroute. Things like this unfold very quickly. It was a matter of seconds so even if a police dog was there it may have been over too quick. he was killed instantly. Media reports say it was clear he was dead straight away. No point in doing cpr on a dead person. Of course a dog was a better option than a gun but not every cop has a dog but they all have access to a gun. What would you do if someone attacked you with a hammer and you feared for your life ?
