Pain makes us learn. I'm not saying pain like you were talking about, the person getting cut up, but some one getting hurt while doing something stupid. If they get hurt while doing it then they now they shouldn't do it again. Or they will just be stupid and do it again.

To the person cutting the other person up, their opinion of right and wrong is different than the person they are chopping up. Also, if you're a person who enjoys pain for pleasure, you might not instantly think that pain=wrong. it's a matter of opinion, you have a basis of what right and wrong is, while I have mine. Just because you believe yours is the best, doesn't mean it is.

Look guys, nihilists are just saying that right and wrong are not laws of the universe. We still hold moral opinions, and I'm a vegan for ethical reasons too if it helps you to understand that. I mean, it's just materialism applied to ethics. You can still have moral stances, you just need to establish things before having arguments.
-
there is no right and wrong, it is just a moral stance, have you ever thought of the guy cutting the other guy inch by inch? he must think its awesome, since he's doing it, so he thinks this is right...
and what about hitler? he thought wiping off the jews, the gypsies, etc was a right thing, and to let them live and be free was a wrong thing, its all opinonated, your moral stance is the only thing that makes you believe in your OWN right and wrong

a lot of the time onision, you barely scratch the surface of the subjects you express your opinion on. your view that "pain = bad" and "no pain = good" is laughable.

@MultiDclay whats up with names? has he ever hurt you? hes still learning no need for vilece or however you spell it

@ShadesAndRed I think what he meant was if someone inflicts someone else pain against him/her. Pain is isn´t technically bad, it depends how you see it, masochists enjoy self inflicting pain or with other methods, Childbirth is a deed which brings life so the procedure includes pain, but we know what for we do these things. but what about if someone tortures you like Onision mentioned, it is wrong. but people inflicting this torture deserve the torture, the saying eye for an eye is what i follow

there is no such things as right and wrong, cultural relativism. and there is a limit to the amount of pain somone can take, that is why hell could never work

Yeah, morally speaking, lots of grey areas.

The difference between right and wrong depends on your moral stance.
