Final Apotheosis. G. won and "corrupted" everybody. The full house dancing and screaming in their tuxedos and gowns. You had to be there to watch, hear and understand the grandeur and exultation of the moment.

- Warming-up Gospel Spirituals: "This Little Light of Mine" (circa 1920, Harry Dixon Loes), "Can't Nobody Do Me like Jesus" (Andraé Crouch), "Amen" (circa 1963, Jester Hairston).

- Final medley: "AMAZING" / "I'M YOUR MAN", "FREEDOM '90".

- Backing vocalists: Jay Henry, Shirley Lewis, Lucy Jules, Lincoln Jean Marie.

Thank you, George, Jay, Shirley, Lucy, Lincoln, band and Symphonica Orchestra... Oh, what a night twas! X

- George Michael's "SYMPHONICA: The Orchestral Tour" at the Royal Opera House, London, UK.
Sunday, 6 November 2011.

  • Great Performance-as usual-Sir Lord George Michael, but regrettably, poor camera work. The camera crew should be focused on the task at hand rather than rocking and rolling. But I guess when it comes to the King of Acoustical Sounds, everybody gets into the RHYTHM!

  • @SirLord1262000 I'd say more: my camera work in all my videos is,proudly,AWFUL, in fact non-existent since I didn't even look through my camera most of the time,on purpose. But,regrettably?Oh, no! :) What I'd have regretted forever is 2get the perfect video for u2 enjoy& not to have lived this incredibly happy moment live as it had to be lived. This is strictly for my memories& for that, imperfect is perfect. If I want to, or if you pay me,I can film the perfect video, believe me :)

  • Still now, this cheers me up and makes me dance each time. Dear George, I want to see you like this again soon. You are the greatest. Everyday is one day stronger towards beating up that bloody pneumbitchonia where it hurts her. Tell her to come here, if she dares! (*clenched fists*) Get well, G., that's all that matters. XO Luv You Always.

  • "Can't Nobody do me like Jesus" is by Andre Crouch

    and

    "Amen" is by Jester Hairston

    who also Played

Rolly Forbes on the Comedy Series Amen in the 80's

I totally agree, there is no way George could be out of shape. He never stops dancing and moving around....and he can do all that without being out of breath or missing a note...Awesome video!! :~)

  • @Ladyailiken I hope he ends up releasing a proper DVD of the whole thing, so that everybody can fully enjoy it. It is what everybody wants and it is a shame if these incredible performances don't get properly preserved for posterity.

  • @Ladyailiken by the way, do you happen to know the date of "Can't Nobody Do Me Like Jesus"? I can't find that info -- Again, it is not that important but it is just that I'd love to know about these things :)

  • I am a die hard GM fan and went to ROH on the day on the off chance I could get tickets...what a fabulous evening it was!!! Looking forward to Earls Court! Thanks for a brilliant video.

  • I had the privilege to be in row B of the stalls, even spotted myself in this video. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life - George rocks!!!! Thanks for posting it :)

  • @rubyshellac

Now the sheet music I found online says 1982, however, I am pretty sure Andre wrote it sooner, this was probably just an update he made to the music itself.

I hope George does put a DVD out of the Symphonica tour.

I really wish I was able to see him live in concert,

I have been a fan since I was 12 years old.

Maybe one day I will be able to travel over to the UK and see him.

    Hope the info helps!!

    ~Val~

  • @Ladyailiken Thank you very much for the info! I love all those kind of details and I think artists always deserve to be given full credit. Many seem to quote those songs only as by author unknown, and I could only find one of them. I will update the description now.

As for the video, well, you see the camera work was awful, but I was dancing, it is just for the memories. All the awesomeness goes to the performers :) But now I can watch this and relive it and start dancing again! :)
