  • @death2opposeme I agree with you on that. The best way to learn is hands on training. I learned more in 1 month on the job, than I did at tech school (18 months!)

  • cool

  • @death2opposeme maybe if your a duct installer. if you are a service tech. GO TO SCHOOL

  • done maintenance. fuck that. and its just not a good comparison to an hvac company as far as LEARNING goes. hell trade school didnt mean shit. the only way to go is good ol hands on traingin. start out as a helper and work your way up. nothing like it.

  • haha no shit!!! not rocket science at all. common sense really. i wanna see the vid where the electrical is at least attempted to be explained on that trane. lmmfao. man up and get into the wiring.

  • Cmon guys its just a small commercial Trane Unit. Check belts, Grease bearings, Check Super heat Check Subcooling. Ohm compressors, Meg Compressors, Ohm Condenser. Inspect wiring, Check Evap coil and sensing bulbs on TXV for contact. Etc. All part of preventative Maintenance. If everything checks out, then cool. If not start trouble shooting. Not rocket science here.

  • these guys are always hiring. read their ad on craigslist. no apartment maintenance techs. they do crumby work. that turned me off right there. even though i am biased because i've worked in this feild for 23 years. i just think the ad speaks for how the company really is and why they still have an ad going on for about 6 months now.

  • HvacrTalk . com welcomes Techs contractors and consumers to join free and discuss and trade infor and learn meet others in the trade. good links and resources...all you need is a valid email to activate your account.

  • LOL! No I don't plan on changing them all out. I only install a piston on the ones that get a restriction in the metering devices. If I have to remove the metering device, then I install a TXV and feeder. Same amount of work. :)

  • 2 condenser fans on those bad boys with a low climate fan cycle control and economizers, but I see your point. if you plan on switching all them out to TXV's, you're gonna be a busy SOB :)
