@furburgers well, i'm rewatching the video right now, and yes, she just can't play (or the sound was really bad - but i doubt..). but i think the most unbearable thing was the music that the host dj was playing between the acts

to the untrained ear MBV may sound bad. but one should know that they are probably the most beautiful and unique band in existence. salem proved themselves to me with their studio albums. and who cares if they dont sound the same live if you truly love the band it doesnt matter. people are too concerned about "correct procedures" in live performances. its good to be different even if you get negative criticism

@PRESSFORDEATH "fuck you" though? Relax, "bro"; I LOVE MBV, but when I saw them, waaaaay back when they still mattered ('90-'91), it was literally impossible to discern between songs. It was just a wall of noise. Cool wall of noise, but it was pretty obvious that they couldn't pull the same studio tricks live without it becoming an incomprehensible psychedelic soup. Maybe they've since learned how to replicate their studio sound, but I didn't get to ATP, so I don't know.

They're a studio band and have no business playing live. That said, their studio material is phenomenal. I LOVE them. But, yeah, they blow live.  Another phenomenal studio band that sucked live is My Bloody Valentine.
