The job of the police is not always to hunt gangsters, sometimes they have to serve and protect in other ways. The woman this officer is following is supposedly planning to commit suicide, and he does his very best to stop her from doing so - and succeeds. The police is there to help!

The cop did great.

She was going to commit suicide and he didn't want to take a chance. I'm glad he over reacted rather than calmly walking towards her. You never know what she would have done if she had a chance.

@DontGetVaginal The problem with that is people who are mentally ill may decide during a moment of unclarity that they want to die based on unrealistic reasons.I do however think that if physically ill people who are mentally stable suffering from disease that is causing pain want to do it kevorkian style thats their business.Just a thought though.

@mba2ceo No, he just didn't take his time getting to her, and thus giving her time to do something stupid..like get back in the car and wrap herself around a tree, or actually jump. He was trying to pull her out of the car, and then used pepper spray. None of that is excessive. If it was someone you loved, you'd probably be happy that he was being safe instead of being sorry later.
