Rio Salado Community College is what would appear to be one of the best Community Colleges for Arizona State University students to go to! Don't always believe what you hear though, Rio has TONS of customer services issues and is what I would call a puppy mill degree college.

  • @jo3jo3221 Im from D.C people say Im nice there, but when I came to AZ people where like OMG your a bitch haha. So I know what you are talking about.

  • maybe a college that does not have communications, im sensing a little sarcasm there, im hoping im wrong

  • @jo3jo3221 LOL Im sarcastic all the time when Im being mean. What I should have said is you most likely go to a private college. At most public school Com is for communications.

  • Chandler-Gilbert is, also, owned by the same company that owns Rio - Maricopa Community Colleges.

  • @ParanormalIndiana Its not a company, its a government run program.

  • so did you ever get your schooling straightened out lol?

  • thats ok im in colorado lol I share that too lol

  • By the way, if you think Rio Salado is bad for customer service - you should take a semester at Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana at Bloomington. Financial Aid emails UN-returned, hung up on multiple times at both Fin-aid and Cashiers office, academic advisory appointments canceled multiple times with no notice (upon me arriving at the school). In my experience, the front end of most Jr. Colleges suck.

I have attended another JR College online - Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana. I attended 2 years there and I'm currently approaching the end of year 1 at Rio. I tell you from my standpoint - both operated almost exactly alike. Communication occurs via email, usually taking 1-2 days to get a reply. Online courses are very much "read a book and take a test" courses - there is no "teaching" going on.

No, Maricopa Community Colleges is a non-profit corporation governed by a board of directors - therefore is a company. And Rio Salado is one of 10 colleges owned and operated by Maricopa Community Colleges. Did you know, that even cities, generally, are companies? To be exact, Municipal Corporations...
