Buddy Greene's harmonica performance (Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring) with violinist Ruth McGinnis is one of the best in my opinion. The link is:

  • The most beautiful harmonica rendition of this I've heard yet!

  • @BedBugAcres Thank You for your encouragement.

  • yes im HxC noob at this but how do you play a 0 ?? or am i miss reading the music in the info??

  • 0 without under line or - is a quarter rest. 0 with underline is Eighth Rest and 0- is Half Rest.

  • Is this played on a diatonic or chromatic? (Yes, I am a harp noob)

  • It was a chromatic harmonica SCX-48(Suzuki).

  • very nice sound and excellent playing !

  • @khlnm can u send me the sheet music

  • @OwnedByTechno You should learn the diatonic first. And yes you can play it on a diatonic, search for Buddy Greene's classical medley on here, he plays it.

  • wats easier to learn diatonic or chromatic, and can i play this song wit ha diatonic

  • @khlnm Actually, after I wrote what I wrote I realized I could have and should have added: Indeed, one of the most beautiful renditions of this I've ever heard ever on ANY instrument!

For a vastly inferior harmonica rendition, check out my channel! :-)

  • @mantastyle314

Simply put a Chromatic can play all notes as you would be able to play it on a piano.

Diatonic will not play all the notes so you must learn to "bend" the notes that are missing from the available notes to achieve a simular result.

  • @mantastyle314 D.H.=plays part of a scale of a tone; C.H.=plays entire chromatic scale of a tone. That's musical theory. Good luck with your harp lessons. Best wishes.

  • sir whats the difference between diatonic or chromatic?( I'm a noob too and want to learn harmonica)
