"Silent Portraits" actually is a photobook by Italian photographer Gian Paolo Barbieri. Not only that, the book is coupled with a record pressed especially for the occasion, containing Vangelis' music inspired by Barbieri's photos.

  • @paulatreides1 In fact it's the same lossy mp3 as you can find it all over internet. Someone just converted mp3 into wav which can't bring the quality back... once lossy, it's always lossy... abd I'm still trying to find different recording with better quality than this.

  • This is the unique and magical sound of Yamaha CP-80, electro-acoustic piano. I just love it... so beautiful. And we shouldn't forget it's also Boss CE-1 Chorus making such wide stereo sound of that piano.

  • It is a privilege to be contemporary of this insuperable Master

  • I hope you are so moved as I by this most deep and richly beautiful piece which is composed with such heart a statue may weep ~~~ such is the magic here :0))

  • @FieldsofDreams64 Having followed your kind posting of this most moving presentation of Vangelis music I am deeply rewarded and thank you Pete and Paul for sharing this with us all. Now I must just close my eyes and let this enter my soul. ~ Maricet ~

  • @5735740

Yeah, he's the master of masters

  • @Eventual422

I understand you a lot. I have no religion, but Vangelis' music brings tears to my eyes and raises my "spirit".

  • @Eventual422 beautiful words ... you are absolutely right .. Vangelis is a monster who can play the most delicate fibers of the heart .. and lop more impressive is that the language makes it more beautiful human being ... music
