That will buff out.

Nice to see the fire brigade causing more needless damage there, not think about releasing the bonnet using the traditional method lads?
I know, they'll have been wanting to disconnect the battery leads which as we can all see was entirely necessary here. Dread to think how much that air duct thing cost that they tore off!!

It's equivalent, what is equivalent to a Clio V6....
In reality very few yanks like European cars...So i'll save my breath justifying why the car is better than the jap crap you mentioned.
"Have a nice day"

And I stand by my "Heap of shit" opinion of the Clio. That one doesn't look to be more than a few years old. It's equivalent here in America would still be worth 12 to 15 thousand dollars.
Guess I'll amend it to say "Worthless heap of shit". Honest to god, why buy a Clio if a fender bender does more damage than it's worth? Honda, Toyota, Subaru, they all operate in your neck of the woods, and their cars aren't worthless heaps of shit.
-
@ajrmotorsport You speak like an insurance adjuster, that's why I figured you did. And honestly, you don't need an exact match. Nobody is going to care if you get parts from a couple years off, or one from an i4 Clio, as long as they fit properly. Nobody worth talking to is going to care.
-
@TestECull - Normally i'd ignore this moronic debate, but because it's Friday i'm happy to educate you in the error of your ways.
No i don't work in insurance, i have a mk2 Clio v6. So i'm in a good position to comment of what they cost. The prices stated in my previous post are indeed retail from Renault. With only 256 Mk1 brought to the UK, i'd imagine sourcing parks in a 'junkyard' is going to be a little tough. - What do you think? As a CAT D car that car is worth about 4k. Anymore?
-
@ajrmotorsport You must work for an insurance company then. Lemme guess, you sourced those from a Renault dealer, too, right? Go to a junkyard, find one the same color that's been rear-ended, and liberate the front clip. Install that. Bam. Car's fixed for at most 1200 bucks.
And really...Four grand is worth MORE than the car? What a heap of shit! Good riddance, I say. That new a car should never be worth that little, if it is, it isn't worth owning in the first place.
-
@TestECull I'm not debating the definition of totalled. I'm stating that it is/was not economically viable to repair that mk1. (It has infact been rebuilt and now resides in Germany) FYI - The total cost of new parts (genuine parts) is in excess of 4k.
-
@ajrmotorsport So? Totalled means it can't be repaired. That car could be repaired with a little hammerwork, a fender, a headlight and a bumper cover. And hell, if you do the work yourself you can do it for under a grand, and if that Clio is still worth less than the cost to repair it at that point then I genuinely feel sorry for anyone dumb enough to buy one.
-
@TestECull - Clearly you don't know the cost of V6clio parts. To repair it would be more than the net value of the whole car. No joke.
my clio was going home at 0600 hrs after a nights work and the peugot drove towards me and drifted across the road, hit me and pinned my car against the granite wall. He told police that he was adjusting his radio at the time. He was probably on his mobile or asleep. The peugot driver was charged with careless driving. y.The insurance refused to repair or replace my car and gave me 11.000 pounds. The other driver never even appologise,d then or since, Ignorant pratt
