I just ordered the Z30 from Amazon the Black and white one. I'm glad your review gave me some insight on how it works. I'm not a big photo fan so I don't know any camera to get. infact this is my first Camera that I ever bought cause I kept using my iPhone cam for pictures. thanks for the review!

No. There is no way to turn on the flash for videos. Most compact cameras do not have that capability, unfortunately. In proper lighting, are you finding that your videos turn out well?

how many shots can you take in a single charge of the battery?is the battery life good?

Not sure exactly how many shots you can get on one charge, but I can tell you the battery life is exceptional. No complaints.

Thanks for your video ... I just bought one for my daughter and before I mailed it out, she wanted me to test it to make sure there were no problems. Your vid helped me get thru the basics without spending a whole lot of time on it.
PS. It works perfect -- a few drawbacks for me was: the battery cover seems to be a little flimsy also making it difficult to plug the cord into it ( very tight in the corner) and the recording mode doesn't have zoom (at least from what I can tell).

I actually loved the battery door LOL The Nikon I exchanged for this camera had a battery door that swung open if you just TOUCHED it, so I was happy to have one that stayed securely closed. I do agree that the mini USB could have been in a more convenient location, though. The video actually does have the zoom capability :) Thanks for your response - hope your daughter likes her camera!

I'm looking forward to buying this camera, and I was wondering if you could explain blog mode?

Blog mode allows you to reduce the size of the photos and add visual effects inside the camera so that when you load them on your PC, you can simply upload them to your blog without any batch processes to prepare them.
