The fact that most of them are still alive after all the substance misuse is testimony to their faith - fabulous music, brilliant musicians...Thank you for posting this great song

I wish Steve Winwood could just sing to me all day
-
@GregERobertson Actually no he wrote this after he bought his home which was called Hurtwood hence "I have finally found a place to live" Eric Clapton never followed any religion at this time in his life
-
Eric composed this song after an encounter backstage after a recent concert. A young couple were walking around and they asked Eric if he'd like to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal saviour. He did; he later said he thought it was the thing to do at the time.. He wrote this song to commemorate that experience.

@Brenjewell That's where their name came from - them NOT wanting to call this a "supergroup".
-
I expected more from them and from you 2. camera0o0
-
@Brenjewell 1)They were often better than they gave themselves credit for (read a bit on how they felt about public adulation) 2) No one in the band ever said they were a "supergroup" The monker was bestowed on them by journalists, as well as other bands like dirty mac, CSNY, cream, and so on. Your ignorance is showing, and your ability to condemn based on false assumptions that exist only in your own mind is impressive.

They thought they were better than they were..who said they could say that they were a SUPERGROUP?

@Gowerwanderer Very well said INDEED.
-
he looks like a bit like that mad night stalker ramirez .

Within the counterculture of the late 60s this song pointed away from the materialistic glam rock that was just round the corner and insteaf to something more substantial. An inspired song of its time.
