@G4FProduction They're instructed not to hold the trigger, because several Krav Maga gun defense techniques, if not all of them, involve manipulating the gun enough to break the index finger.

I don't think it's the most effective self defense. I mean yeah sure you have the gun out of your face, but what if he shoots. The heat of the barrel would make you pull away and then he gets his gun back and starts firing at you!!!

But if YOUR DEATH IS IMMINENT, at least try something. Are you saying you would let the attacker shoot and kill you over the risk of getting shot in the hand?
worst case - you are shot and killed (same outcome as doing nothing), all other cases - you live.
