@menwar200 On the other hand - it puts things in relief. I can do everything in this video on my crap 1GB computer with Ubuntu. Try doing that with vista -> not possible. OK, so Windows7 was a bit faster, but compare system requirements, windows still need more than linux+compiz+extras. And it is amazing that linux is BOTH faster - and more secure, when Microsoft wants money for their bloat.
-
@vlptr I agree - but then again the excact same was vista. Pretty crappy "effects" that took up all the bloated system. A "system" that nothing worked on, and when it DID work, it was sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooowly. Because Microsoft doesn't care shit about optimized code. I had vista for two years, It NEVER got the job done. At least Compiz WORKS in Ubuntu, and Ubuntu ITSELF also works. To be honest a lot faster than bloated windows. -
Wow 4 years and no likes our dislikes pretty crappy

Typical Linux "promotional" video; showing useless desktop tweaks that don't get your work done.

ubuntu is boring.. ;(

Don't compare vista it's crap

@MrSlowestD16 true.

@AnxiousNut Actually gtk-recordmydesktop will probably have "recordmydesktop" listed as a dependency, so it should just be:
sudo apt-get install gtk-recordmydesktop
-
@untseac - Cool. When we were rolling out Solaris to one customer they asked us to do a evaluation of how safe it was from viruses. That didn't take long!

@frostek "You're a bit too defensive" Yes I am muhahaha. I use Solaris in my company btw and I absolutely hate that weird OS. Better than windows for heavy operations though.
Ubuntu isn't a kernel, Linux is the kernel that Ubuntu uses.

I thought this is a Linux Ubuntu vs. MS Vista video, but it turned out to be "Look it's compiz!!!" wich .. is a feature.
Anyhow, I've got some thing to say, buddy you realy should have used recordmydesktop instead! if you dont have it, open the terminal and type:
sudo apt-get install recordmydesktop
and for the gui app:
sudo apt-get install gtk-recordmydesktop
