The Mexican army on Friday announced it made the largest seizure of drug-cartel weapons in Mexico's history. Officials say the cache of 540 rifles, 165 grenades, 500,000 rounds of ammunition and 14 sticks of TNT were seized in Reynosa. (Nov. 8)

    This is a 2008 video, my friend.The only gun-running ATF operation at that point had only involved about a hundred guns. Obama's Fast and Furious had not happened yet.

    I know that most of the guns cartels use don't come from the U.S., but about half of the ones shown in this video seem to have come from US Gun stores. Probably because Mexican police didn't want to show off their own guns that they got back.

  • @Tezcatlepocatl The only reason some of those firearms are from US gun stores, is because the ATF forced a shit load of gun stores to cell MASSIVE amounts of firearms to cartel contacts to "track down" the cartels, and also, most of the stuff has probably been sold to them by Mexican and US politicians and police, or from numerious South American/Central American countries...

  • About half of those are from US civilian stores, I think.

    But how do you explain the multi-shot grenade launcher? I've yet to see a store sell one of those in the states.
