How to Get Clients Using Online Marketing Strategies

Hi, this is Payson Cooper from http://www.PaysonCooper.com and this is the top 10 tips series of videos to help you figure out how to get clients through online marketing strategies.

We are down to Tip #2.

Tip #2 is, what I like to call 'checklists'. So, this is a tip that is more 'across the board', this is not just for online marketing strategies, but for all different kinds of marketing strategies. You want to think about building checklists for all different areas of your business, but we're going to focus on online marketing strategies right now.

For example, when I create a new blog post, I have a checklist that I follow once I complete the blog post - and even actually FOR the blog post - so I have a checklist for keywords, to make sure all the parts of the blog are completed to make it most effective for SEO (search engine optimization), then I edit the post a few hours or a day later. Then, once I publish the blog post, I have a whole series of steps I take to promote the blog post.

I put a bunch of time into creating the content, so why wouldn't I want to make sure that a lot of people get to see it and get to benefit from it. So, the first step I do is send an email to my list inviting them to come read that blog post and I make sure that I give them a good benefit, why is it going to be helpful for them to read that blog post.

Then, I go out into social media and I promote that blog post. I have a series of different steps that I follow to make sure that I drive traffic to that post, and in turn to my opt-in offer. So, I have a checklist that I follow, because I found that without it, things were much more willy-nilly. If I wasn't really in the mood to finish this, or do that part of the promotion I would just leave it off, but now that I have an actual checklist, I have a binder where I have a bunch of different checklists for different marketing strategies that I use, so, I open my binder to that page and I make sure that I do everything on the list. It doesn't take very long, it keeps me on track and makes sure that I accomplish things the way that I want.

Build checklists for different pieces of your business and different strategies that you use, put them together in a 'systems' binder. One of the other benefits that comes from doing this is, as you build the systems, you will start to see where it makes sense for you to outsource certain parts of your business. So, as you are ready to bring on a VA or assistant, it becomes very clear what they can take over and do for you.
