A quick peek review of Chevy Volt, the American made electric car which will be out later this year.

    The Volt has a 9.5 gallon tank that would cost half the price of you 4.9L V8 to fill. And the first ~40 miles wouldn't use any gas at all.

    The Volt has under a 10 gallon tank. Also Europe's gallon in 1.2 US gallons. So your car assuming it has a 15 gallon tank does about 40 MPG which the Volt can match. The difference is the Volt can go ~ 40 miles with no gas at all which your diesel can't.
